AS and A2 Chemistry

Welcome to the EMS Chemistry portal.  Here you can find all the support material for your AS and A2 Chemistry courses.

Chemistry is that branch of natural philosophy in which the greatest improvements have been made and may be made - but I have not neglected the other branches of science. A man would make but a very sorry chemist if he attended to that department of human knowledge alone. If your wish is to become really a man of science and not merely a petty experimenter, I should advise you to apply to every branch of natural philosophy, including mathematics.

In Year 12 and 13 you will record all your experiments in a hard-backed A4 notebook.  You will need to buy one and bring it to every lesson.  It is worthwhile finding out how to use a laboratory notebook correctly before attempting an experiment.  There is a particularly good article here which explains this in detail.  Please read this as soon as possible.
